How to Help Pets in the Gulf Oil Spill

It was bound to happen... H$U$ has shown up in south Louisiana, getting in the way of those who are trying to help wildlife.
Next their ads will be on the TV so all those unsuspecting folks will be sending them money,
thinking they are helping the oiled wildlife! NOT!

How you can REALLY help is to spread the word about the work of these groups listed below...

Bay Area Food Bank: delivers to the bayou area towns of AL, MS
to help those who have lost their jobs or income because of oil spill. They also deliver pet food.

Dogs and cats are being dropped off in LA, MS, and AL by people out of work due to oil spill.

Donations can be sent to help feed the animals in the homes, see the web site:

It would be better to help them feed them than have them surrendered to shelters.
some shelters are overflowing and not taking any more.
Like South MS Humane Society. They are also giving out food to keep pets in

In case you are not familiar with the reasoning behind this post, the Humane Society of the United States,
or as it is commonly referred to in animal circles,
H$U$, is based in Washington, DC and is a giant fundraising
organization that does NOT do what it says with contributions it receives.

The vast fortunes of this group could easily help to set up spay/neuter clincs and feed countless
thousands of animals throughout the United States, if they truly wanted to help the animals.
